If you’re looking for a replacement smart key for a Toyota, Honda, or Subaru, you’ve found the right place. We do registration of the key in the immobilizer system and smart key system and we cut smart key inserts in house, including high-security and “laser cut” keys. We even have the tooling necessary to cut Honda’s new stainless steel key insert, which we purchased through the Honda tool and equipment program.

It is NOT POSSIBLE to program smart key fobs remotely. Both the key fob and the car must be here at our shop in Berkeley, California.
Remote creation of a smart key isn’t possible
Every day we get calls from around the country asking us to make and ship a smart key fob. Sorry, but it’s just not possible. Not because we don’t want to, but because it’s it just not possible. As of today (2020), there is no way to clone a smart key. Both the car and the key must be in the same location at the same time to program a key, or more accurately, program the key to the car and the car to the key. A vehicle ID must be written to the key and a key ID must be written to the vehicle.
Cheaper than going to a dealership
That was the bad news. The good news is that if you’re in Berkeley or the East Bay, we can usually make a key for far less than a dealership. For some vehicles we have aftermarket smart key replacement options.
Smart key Fob programming even if you’ve lost all of your keys
We’re a licensed locksmith, so we can make you a new key even if you have no keys for the car. If you’ve lost all of your keys, we’ll need proof of identity (driver’s license) and proof of ownership (current vehicle registration or pink slip).
We’ll need this documentation even if you are known to us and we’ve been servicing your car for years. Every time we make a transaction through National Automotive Service Task Force (NASTF) Secure Data Release Model (SDRM), we must complete a webform and upload copies of your driver’s license and proof of ownership. If we don’t, our license is suspended and we can’t do locksmith work.
Making a new key when no keys exist is more time consuming than making a key using an existing key. It’s a very good idea to always have at least two keys for your car and to make a new one right away if you lose a key. It also makes sense to delete the missing key. We can always re-register it if you find it later.
