Art's Automotive has been serving the East Bay for nearly 30 years now specializing in Japanese auto repair!

Sorry, but Izuzu, Suzuki, Mitsubishi and pre-1996 Subarus will have to go somewhere else for work. We also do not work on German or Domestic either. We do not do collision repair or other body work.

Arthur Ratner himself is a very interesting man with a strong automotive legacy. You can read more about his history in this "Art-icle"

If you'd like to put a face to the name on your repair order, feel free to meet the mechanics here.

If you're a first time or potential customer, check out this New Customer Orientation section for answers to lots of questions we receive.

Art's Automotive does not shy away from expensive or difficult jobs. We have the technology and equipment necessary to do anything the dealer is capable of, without the exorbitant prices!

We've received many peoples' choice awards, and lots of internet recognition on sites like Yelp. Our reputation comes from following a simple mission statement that can be summed up in a single word: Integrity.

All our mechanics are ASE certified, and many come with dealership experience.

We stock Genuine, OEM or OE parts in our parts room, and use all Genuine fluids. Just like the dealer! We do not cut corners to cut costs! You save money with our competitive labor rate and low overhead. We discourage customers from bringing their own parts, and you can read more about why in this article here.

As you can tell, there's a lot of information on this site! We do our best to educate our customers, not drown them in technical jargon. Art's Automotive wants you to feel comfortable with what we're explaining to you, not just do what we tell you.

Art's Automotive is a certified Bay Area Green business. We spend extra money for recycling programs and extra effort ensuring that our impact on the environment is as little as possible. Click here to learn more about what it means to be a green business.

We have also invested in extensive solar panelling to eliminate our dependence on city-provided electricity. We documented our experiences in this fun photo-diary page. We also registered to become a battery recycling center, and a used oil reception center! Art's is doing its best to stay true to the Berkeley spirit of responsible business practices.
